Brazil Breakfast 2014 - New York

Thank you for attending the Brazil Breakfast. We look forward to seeing you again in 2015!

About:

The Brazilian Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (ABVCAP), in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), hosted in association with LAVCA´s Annual Summit & Investor Roundtable the 6th edition of the Brazil Breakfast. The Breakfast was keynoted by Charles Kaye, Co-CEO, Warburg Pincus, followed by a panel that included Sebastian Popik, Managing Partner, Aqua Capital, Cesar Collier, Managing Director, Siguler Guff and Eduardo Alcalay, Maning Director, GP Investments for a insightful conversation about PE investments in agribusiness, infrastructure and the consumer sectors.

The breakfast gathered approximately 150 participants. The breakdown of global LPs and GPs active in Brazil follows below. In addition to the networking spaces throughout the event, members of the PEVC inBrazil program aso had access to an exclusive room for private meetings. The event was considered another major success, which will hopefully translate into new or follow-on investments to Brazil´s private equity and venture capital industry.

What we saw:

With presidential elections due a fews weeks from the event, the discussion on the floor was about who of the candidates would win this competitive race. In spite of the cautious approach to PE investments in Brazil both local GPs and global LPs agreed that the problems faced were nothing like those seen ten years ago. Matured investors with a long track-record in the country where optimistic about Brazil´s opportunity and capacity to show results in the long-term.
