ABOUT US
We are the Brazilian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association (ABVCAP), a non-profit entity in operation since 2000, with the goal of promoting long-term investment activity in the country. We represent long-term and productive private capital management in Brazil across all classes of alternative and illiquid private assets.
OUR ROLE AND ACTIVITIES
We facilitate the relationship between members of the long-term investment community, fostering an environment conducive to discussions and the strengthening of relationships.
ABVCAP advocates for the interests of industry members with public and private institutions, both national and international, seeking public policies that are increasingly favorable to promoting these investments in Brazil.
Our main responsibilities include:
– Advocacy for industry interests;
– Promotion and development of asset classes;
– Capacity building through courses and training;
– Collection and dissemination of industry information.

In addition to expanding and improving various long-term investment fronts in Brazil, in line with international practices when applicable, ABVCAP’s mission highlights its strategic integration into the capital markets, acting as a driver for new assets/companies on stock exchanges.

Networking, studies and research, education, promotion of best practices, and interaction with similar entities
ABVCAP’s work aims to facilitate relationships between members of the long-term investment community, both nationally and internationally, providing an environment conducive to debates and the strengthening of relationships.
Our daily activities include training programs, studies and research about the industry, dissemination of reliable data, promotion of best practices among community members and portfolio companies—particularly related to governance and responsible investment—and interaction with similar or related entities, both national and international. All of this is done in pursuit of healthy relationship development between markets and the promotion of a long-term investment culture.
