D&I

ABVCAP promotes D&I (Diversity and Inclusion) practices among its members, understanding that a more diverse industry broadens its range of funds attraction, in addition to promoting investments capable of addressing numerous gaps that are outside the focus of a traditional investor.

One of these projects is the promotion of hiring and inclusion of young people in situations of social vulnerability, previously trained by partner institutions, combined with the sharing of these opportunities with HR departments of signatory institutions helping them to create an inclusion and mentoring program to insert these young people into the work environment. With the aim of promoting gender equality in Brazil’s alternative investment industry, another project was developed through a partnership between ABVCAP, Heidrick & Struggles, and the International Finance Corporation (IFC): the ONE Project (content only in Portuguese). This project brought together General Partners, Limited Partners, and female professionals from Brazil’s Private Equity and Venture Capital industry to, through research, training, and strategic actions, identify and contribute to overcoming gender inequalities, disseminate best practices, create opportunities for value generation in the industry, and develop business cases for gender diversity. The project was concluded with a strategic plan, currently in a pilot phase with 12 participating GP’s.
