General partners from Brazil or with an investment allocation of more than 50% in the country who are considering starting a campaign to raise funds abroad should note the long and challenging journey ahead.
Of the global allocation committed to private equity and venture capital funds in recent years, less than 1% was directed to Brazilian funds. International investors have gradually reduced relationships with new managers, concentrating ever higher volumes in an ever smaller number of managers. Considering this scenario, the inBrazil program was created to facilitate the dialogue between qualified international investors and Brazilian GPs, supporting fund managers in this arduous journey that is to fundraise abroad.
Benefits for participating managers:
- Customized service on strategy, markets and potential investors aligned with each fund’s thesis;
- Participation in missions and business rounds promoting qualified connections with international investors in Brazil and abroad;
- Possibility of participation in the agendas of events in Brazil and abroad according to the curation of each event (this benefit is exclusive to ABVCAP members);
- Access to training and tools aimed at improving your foreign fundraising process;
- Free or discounted registration for the main international and Brazilian events held within the scope of the program – this benefit is exclusive to ABVCAP members;
- Access to the calendar of the main global industry events, qualified by a competent team.
Testimonials from participating fund managers
“Foreign capital is ready to come, but there is still very little information about investing in Brazil. To put Brazil on the map, we have to continue with these initiatives.”
“Continuing face-to-face contact with the international community is essential.”
“The PEVC inBrazil program is essential to support the manager’s efforts in the international fundraising process.”
“The biggest difference is access to intelligence. This makes life much easier for the manager who begins his fundraising campaign with a greater understanding of the types of investors who may be potentially interested in the fund. This intelligence combined with the team’s proactivity forms a tool of immense value for the manager.”
“Fantastic program. It helps to better plan international fundraising and, although we are targeting a market that is less interested in Brazil, the experience was good.”
