At the end of 2013 ABVCAP released the first version of the Guide to Venture Capital and Private Equity. The direct product of intense work by the Executive Committee of Institutional Investors (ECII), the Guide is the result of a broad discussion of practices and procedures used in the relationship between investors and managers of private equity, venture capital and seed funds. The guide also underwent a process of review by the members of ABVCAP and was approved by the Executive Council of the Association.
The purpose of this Guide is to point out guidelines for adoption of best practices in venture capital and private equity in order to improve the relationship between investors, managers and other participants in the industry. It also aims to help new managers and investors who wish to participate in this industry in understanding the asset class.
