ABVCAP 2012 CONFERENCE By year-end 2011, Brazil ranked as the world’s sixth largest economy.
According to the specialists, if the growth rate forecast is maintained
for the next few years, it could well stand fourth in this global
ranking by 2019. Great investment opportunities, massive economic
potential and surging domestic demands are highlighted as the driving
forces underpinning its sustainable development.
While the global
economic crisis has put in evidence the strength of the emerging
economies, it has also raised some concerns: how can the successful
economic strategies spurring this development be tweaked to cope with
sweeping changes? How can the efficiency of the emerging markets be
preserved?
The Conference hosted by the Brazilian Private Equity & Venture Capital Association (ABVCAP) has been firming up its position as the main private equity, venture and seed capital event for the emerging nations,
attracting more than 600 local and international players in this
industry. On April 16 and 17, 2012, specialists, fund managers,
government authorities, lawyers, consultants and entrepreneurs gathered together with Brazilian and international investors to discuss
the long-term investment context in Brazil, in view of the new global
economic order. The topics included more streamlined regulatory
frameworks, rising participation among institutional investors, uptake
of foreign funding, the views of international investors, the current
most attractive sectors, and the scenarios for IPOs. All of this in the usual setting for networking and exchanging experiences! Additionally, selected companies presented their strategies and opportunities during the investments section: the Venture Forum.
