Hire a Young Person

About the Program
The pandemic has exacerbated a number of problems, including unemployment, which primarily affects young people. Therefore, it is urgent to bring this issue to the agenda for solutions. Youth employment must be on the agenda of Brazil's economic and social recovery because it involves supporting one of the most vulnerable and essential groups in building a better country.
The Private Equity and Venture Capital sector is one of the largest job creators in Brazil and aims to actively address this immense challenge. The Brazil 2030 Committee of Abvcap (Brazilian Association of Private Equity and Venture Capital), with the support of the Brazilian chapters of PRI (Principal for Responsible Investment), the Global Compact, and the One Million Opportunities (1MiO) initiative, proposes to launch the "Hire a Young Person and Transform the Country" campaign and mobilize investment managers and their ventures to hire young people.
We want individual actions to coalesce into coordinated movements for respect, inclusion, training, and hiring of young Brazilians. Our combined efforts are the lever for transforming Brazil!
Youth in data:
While the average unemployment rate hovers around the frightening 13.9% (IBGE), among the population aged 14 to 24, the situation is even worse, approaching 40%. Globally, this average is 13.6%. According to the International Labor Organization (ILO), the potential wasted youth workforce globally amounts to 41 million people.
Our goal is to train 100% from the signatories' HR departments over the next 12 months to hire and ensure the inclusion of young people. We also aim to assist them in their development through our own programs and those of partner institutions.
